A storm with a known date
A monsoon cell, microburst or hail event you remember clearly is the starting point for any claim, since insurers look at damage from a specific event.

After a monsoon storm, the hardest part of a roof claim is often showing what actually happened up there. We get on the roof, photograph the damage, write a repair scope with a price, and protect the roof so it doesn't get worse while your claim moves forward.

Short answer
We help Phoenix homeowners with the roofing side of a storm claim: a roof inspection, dated photos of wind or hail damage, a written repair scope and estimate you can send to your insurer, and meeting the adjuster on the roof if you ask us to. We are not public adjusters, we don't negotiate claims or give legal advice, and your policy and insurer decide what's covered.
Materials we install and repair across the Valley
Our part is the roof. We inspect it, document what we find with dated photos and notes, and write a repair scope listing the materials and work needed to put it back the way it was, along with our price. You send that to your insurer with whatever else they ask for. If the adjuster wants to walk the roof with a roofer present, we'll meet them there, show the damage we photographed, and answer questions about how the repair would be done.
What we don't do matters just as much. We aren't public adjusters, we don't negotiate settlements, and we don't give legal advice or tell you what your policy covers. Coverage, deductibles and depreciation are between you and your insurer under the terms of your policy. If a claim gets complicated, a public adjuster or an attorney is the right person to call, not a roofer. We also won't offer to absorb or waive any part of your deductible.

On full replacements we price the roof in more than one material when it helps, for example Eagle or Westlake Royal tile against GAF or CertainTeed shingles, so you can compare.
Good documentation starts wide and moves in close. We photograph each roof plane from the edge so overall condition is clear, then shoot individual damage with something for scale: a chalk circle around a hail strike, a tape measure beside a cracked tile, a lifted shingle tab held up to show the broken seal. Soft metals like vents, flashing and gutters get photographed too, since dents there help show storm size. Each photo is dated and tied to a spot on a simple roof sketch.
We're just as careful about what we don't call storm damage. Tiles cracked by foot traffic, underlayment worn out by decades of Valley heat and old patches failing on their own are wear, not a sudden event, and mixing them in weakens the whole file. Our notes keep fresh storm damage separate from age-related wear so the insurer sees an honest picture. On hail visits that line matters most, which is why our hail damage inspections spell out what each mark actually is.
Most policies expect homeowners to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after a storm, and monsoon season doesn't wait for paperwork. If the roof is open, we tarp it or make a temporary repair the same day or the next morning, depending on when you call. That emergency protection is photographed and listed separately in our paperwork, so your insurer can see what was done to stop the water and why. Keep every receipt for it with your claim records.
Temporary protection buys time; it doesn't replace the repair. Tarps break down within weeks in Phoenix sun, and sandbags shift in the next round of wind. Once the insurer has seen the roof and the scope is settled, we schedule the permanent repair, matching tile, shingle, foam or membrane to what's already up there. If the damage proves widespread enough that your insurer approves a full roof, the scope changes, and our paperwork is updated to match.
The biggest one is waiting. Damage gets harder to tie to one storm when weeks pass and another cell rolls through, so report the event to your insurer and get the roof looked at soon after. The second is signing at the door. Some storm chasers ask homeowners to sign over claim rights or commit to a contract before an adjuster has even visited. Read anything carefully before you sign, and keep control of your own claim. Our step-by-step walkthrough of Arizona roof claims lays out the usual order.
The third is filing on wear. A claim for a roof that's simply old tends to be denied and can still show up in your claims history. If our inspection finds the roof is aging rather than storm damaged, we'll say so plainly and price a repair or replacement on its own terms, so you can decide whether a claim makes sense at all.
Not every storm justifies a claim, and an honest look at the roof is how you find out. These are good reasons to have the roof inspected and photographed.
A monsoon cell, microburst or hail event you remember clearly is the starting point for any claim, since insurers look at damage from a specific event.
Pieces of roofing on the lawn, in the pool or across the driveway after a storm are clear signs that something on the roof moved or broke.
Fresh dents in soft metal are a quick clue that hail came through, and they help show how large the stones were.
A ceiling stain that appears just after a storm points to fresh damage, and prompt documentation helps show when the water first came in.
When several homes on your street have storm repairs underway, it's worth having your roof checked, even if nothing shows from the ground.
If someone you didn't call says your roof is damaged, an independent look tells you whether that's true before you file anything.
Typical range in the Phoenix area
$285 to $645
for an inspection, photo report and written scope

The inspection and documentation visit is a set fee for most homes, and it's the same whether or not you end up filing. Repair prices come from the scope itself and depend entirely on the damage. Your insurer decides what share of the repair cost the policy pays, after your deductible.
Ranges are typical figures for Valley homes, not a quote. We price your roof after we see it.
Call (602) 878-3594 any hour. Tell us the storm date, what you've noticed inside and out, and whether you've already reported it to your insurer.
If the roof is open or leaking, we tarp or patch it right away and photograph that work so it's documented on its own.
We walk every roof plane, mark and photograph storm damage, note age-related wear separately, and sketch where each issue sits on the roof.
You get a written scope listing materials, quantities and work, with our price, ready to send to your insurer along with your claim.
If you want us there, we meet the adjuster on the roof, show the documented damage and answer questions about the repair method.
Once you and your insurer settle the scope, we schedule the permanent repair or replacement and send final photos for your records.
Most of our roof insurance claim help calls come from these parts of the Valley. We also cover every other area on our service area list, from Anthem and Cave Creek down to Casa Grande.
Yes, if you'd like us there. We meet the adjuster at the scheduled time, walk the roof together, point out what we documented and explain how the repair would be done. We don't argue coverage or negotiate on your behalf. Our role is making sure the roof itself is clearly understood.
Not necessarily. Our estimate shows what we'd charge to do the work described in the scope. Your insurer prepares its own estimate, applies your deductible and decides coverage under your policy terms. The two numbers often differ, and questions about that difference belong between you and your insurer.
No. We're roofers, and we stick to inspecting, documenting and repairing the roof. Public adjusters are separate professionals who represent policyholders in a claim. If you want someone to negotiate your settlement or interpret your policy, that's who to talk to, and we're glad to share our photos and scope with whoever you choose.
Stay off the roof, but take photos from the ground of anything that fell, dented gutters and vents, damaged patio covers and any new ceiling stains inside. Write down the date and rough time of the storm. Pictures taken before cleanup add to the record and help tie the damage to a specific event.
That depends on your deductible and your policy, which only you and your insurer can weigh. If our repair price is close to or below your deductible, many homeowners simply pay for the repair themselves. We'll give you the scope and price either way, so you can compare the numbers before deciding whether to file.
