Sunset ValleywideRoofing in Phoenix, AZ

About us

A Phoenix roofing company that answers the phone

Roofs in the Valley fail in particular ways, and we have built our work around them. Heat, UV, dust and monsoon wind decide what we check first, what we recommend and how we schedule.

How we got to roofing the way we do

Most roofing advice is written for places where rain and snow are the main threat. In Phoenix the roof spends most of the year under sun that can push its surface past 150 degrees, then takes a few weeks of monsoon wind and rain that find every weakness at once. A roof here usually fails from the inside out: the felt under the tile turns brittle, the coating on the foam chalks away, the shingle loses its oils and granules.

So our work leans toward the layers you cannot see. We spend a lot of time on underlayment, coatings, flashing at walls and parapets, scuppers and canales on flat roofs and the mounts under solar arrays. We repair, recoat and replace tile, foam, built-up, modified bitumen, TPO, shingle and metal roofs, and we are just as glad to tell a homeowner that a roof has years left as to quote a new one.

Calls come in to one number, (602) 878-3594, at any hour. Crews leave from our Phoenix office on East Washington Street and our Scottsdale office on East McDonald Drive, which keeps most of the Valley within a reasonable drive.

What you can expect from us on every job

We look before we price

Every price starts with someone on the roof. Photos of what we find come with the scope, so you can see the problem we are describing.

We fix the cause

A stain on the ceiling is a symptom. We trace leaks to the gap, the flashing or the underlayment that let the water in, and fix that.

We work with the heat

Summer jobs start at first light. Open roofs get covered before afternoon storms. Materials are stored out of the sun until they go on.

We leave it clean

Magnet sweeps for nails, debris hauled the same day, gravel and plants protected, and a last walk with you or photos when you are away.

Who writes the Desert Roof Guide

Our Desert Roof Guide is written and edited by Lamar Baskin, our Desert Roof Guide Editor. The guides start from the questions homeowners actually ask us: how long tile underlayment lasts, when to recoat a foam roof, what an HOA wants to see before a re-roof, and what to do the night a monsoon storm finds a leak.

The goal is simple: help you understand your roof well enough to make a good decision, whether or not you ever call us.
